Heavyweights a Non-Draw
(too old to reply)

I note that tonight, May 22, 2015, there are not one or two, but THREE
fight cards on TV in the USA. One each on ESPN2, CBS and Fox. I can
only record two and I know none of the boxers in the top couple of
fights.

I noted that one of the contests features heavyweights at the top of
the bill, and so that is the one I’ll be scratching. It use to be the
heavyweights that were the most interesting. Now they are the least.

Here are some heavyweight results from Friday night:

Colisee Isabelle Brasseur, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada
Eric Barrak lost to Donovan Ruddock by MD in 6 rounds

ESPN2 - At Corona, Calif.

Donovan Dennis lost by TKO round 8 to Andrey Fedosov

That's the only one I could find! There is a good one scheduled for
today (May 23) on NBC sports:

James DeGale vs. Andre Dirrell, 12 rounds, for vacant IBF super
middleweight title.

Regards,

The one you missed was Mike Perez's career-shifting 1st round loss to
Alexander Povetkin. *Thoroughly* confusing. Perez gets only 2nd loss,
after the split-decision 12-rounder with Bryant Jennings, and here is
KO'd in 1:15! After being down twice. This despite the fact that some
wonder about the durability of Povetkin's chin.

It's tough game for heavyweights! As a fan I have only two general
options: See someone clubbed to the mat in two rounds or watch somebody
(or two) get hammered brutally for 10 rounds; it's one or the other.

Yeah, the Dirrell Bros. always bring a lot of passion to their showings.

It was a pretty good fight. Dirrell got knocked down twice in the 2nd
round but came back and made it a close fight. DeGale was good enough
and won a UD.
