Manny only had 2 good rounds. He said he injured his
shoulder during training and Nevada would not allow
him to take an anti-inflammatory drug. That may have
had some bearing on the fight, but I doubt it would
have made much difference. Let's see if there's
a re-match or not.
Manny looked completely uninspired the entire fight!
I've never seen him this slow and stationary.
I've seen his foot speed and "ring range" little by
little reduced for many years now but this I didn't
expect. When he was KOd by Marquez Pac-Man was past
his prime but still looked a thousand times more
"airbound" and elastic on his feet, and also much more
enthusiastic in everything about him. I thought he
looked indifferent already when introduced by
Mr. Buffer...
Incredibly Pac-Man still managed to hit Mayweather
many times, tho I agree Mayweather won the fight.
Pac-Man himself was never an unhittable fighter even
in the Barrera, Morales days, so that was expected.
However whenever Pac-Man landed clean there was zero
energy to follow up the offense! He just isn't
the same.
This fight was a total bummer. Is this what the "fans"
get after five years wishing for the best to fight?
Answer: Yes.
