WBC 122 lb. champion Erik Morales recently spent a few days training at
high-altitude Big Bear, CA. While there, Morales sparred with WBC 130 lb. champ
Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather. According to a Los Angeles newspaper, for two
rounds the smaller Morales put some serious hurt on the larger Mayweather.
Mayweather didn't like it one bit and stormed out angry.
Go Figure.

Morales even beat Pacquiao, in his prime (in both
men's primes). I remember that as a very close and
hard fight in which Pac-Man got cut, big.
Freddie Roach blamed the cut, which certainly
influenced the outcome, but nevertheless Morales
fought a very clever and hard fight.

Morales boxed and moved well but didn't go unmarked
from the show.

Morales stamina, even for a Mexican fighter, must have
been super-human at that time.

After that Pac-Man beat Morales twice in more
Pac-sided affairs which were similar to many of
Manny's fights back then. The other guys just weren't
in the fights until they were out of it...

Morales was always angry at Barrera and sometimes
Marquez was angry at Morales AND Barrera (for not
fighting him, which Barrera ultimately did, and lost),
but as far as I know, none of these gentlemen were
ever angry with the true and ever gentleman kid,
namely Manny Pacquiao. (Barrera also fought and lost
to Pac-Man in very unhealthy fights for him.)
