Timothy Bradley in a mild suprise fought to a split draw against Diego
Gabriel Chaves. Judge Burt Clements scored it 115-113 for Bradley,
Julie Lederman surprisingly had it 116-112 for Chaves and Craig
Metcalfe had it 114-114. ESPN.com had it for Bradley 119-109. I
thought Bradley had done more than enough to win.

In another fight which I thought was also a mild upset, Andy Lee
defeated previously undefeated Matt Korobov. Lee, who was an Emanual
Steward pupil, knocked out Matt Korobov in the sixth round.

Another fight of note on this busy Saturday night took place at the
MGM Grand in Las Vegar wthere Amir Khan easily beat Devon Alexander by
UD with scores of 119-109, 118-110, 120-108.

Khan's another guy that Mayweather had ducked all of these years along
with Pacquia. Mayweather says he'll fight Pacquia on May 2nd 2015.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Regards,

A more significant suprise was provided much earlier in the evening
before the Benevidez and Herrera fight (with an outrageously lame
decision to award the fight to the loser, Benevidez). Prior to the
fight the announcer said (and I quote it directly as I *wrote it down*
in a semi-state of shock):

"Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions proudly present 12 rounds of boxing
for the interim WBA lightwight world championship..."

That's right: The names Top Rank AND Golden Boy used in the *same
sentence*, working together for the *same fight*. Oh. My. God.

Apparently now all things are possible.
