Each level of cultural and human development
represents a value system, or to use a term coined by Richard Dawkins, a
meme. Just as genes carry the informational codes for our biological
DNA, these value systems supply the codes (or memes, rhymes with
“themes”) that determine our “cultural DNA.” Memes are ideas, beliefs,
values, common ways of looking at the world that, like contagious
viruses, spread from brain to brain through word of mouth, through
media, through interaction between people. The third angel’s message is
a meme. Net ’98 was a global memetic event infecting the world with the
divine virus of the gospel.

There are more than 6 billion people in the
world today, and though we all come from some 100,000 genes—all of us—we
share only a few basic value systems or memes. Researchers studying this
topic have identified only eight thus far.

When something isn’t right at the surface level—where we interact with
others or with God—or when our priorities are distorted or our lives are
out of balance, we need to remember that we too are shaped by these deep
emotional, social, and spiritual messages we have received. For these
influence how people think and how they respond to the world around
them. These memes equal the whole set of the cultural and spiritual
forces that shape our thinking they tell us from a human perspective
what is right, wrong, and appropriate (Figure B).

differences people value the most in each system as they flow from

The levels are open-ended; there isn’t a final stage of development in
this chart or any other useful one, for the ideal that God sets before

The essential thing, however, in this system of categories, by which it
is distinguished from that ancient rhapsody (which proceeded without any
principle), and in virtue of which it alone deserves to be counted as
philosophy, consists in this: that through it the *TRUE* *SIGNIFICATION*
*OF* *THE* *PURE* *CONCEPTS* *OF* *THE* *UNDERSTANDING* and the
condition of their use could be exactly determined. For here it became
apparent that the pure concepts of the understanding are, of themselves,
nothing but logical functions, but that as such they do not constitute
the least concept of an object in itself but rather need sensory
intuition as a basis, and even then they serve only to determine
empirical judgments – which are otherwise undetermined and indifferent
with respect to all the functions of judging – with respect to those
functions, so as to procure universal validity for these judgments, and
thereby to make judgments of experience possible in general.

This sort of insight into the nature of the categories, which would at
the same time restrict their use merely to experience, never occurred to
their first originator, or to anyone after him; but *WITHOUT* *THIS*
*INSIGHT* (*WHICH* *DEPENDS* *PRECISELY* *ON* *THEIR* *DERIVATION* *OR*
*DEDUCTION*), they are completely useless and are a paltry list of

metaphysical contemplation must be directed if it is to be complete; for
it exhausts all moments of the understanding, under which every other
concept must be brought. Thus too has arisen the table of principles, of
whose completeness we can be assured only through the system of
categories; and even in the division of concepts that are supposed to go
beyond the physiological use of the understanding (Critique, p. 344,
also p. 415), there is always the same guiding thread, which, since it
always must be taken through the same fixed points determined a priori
in the human understanding, forms a closed circle every time, leaving no
room for doubt that the object of a pure concept of the understanding or
reason, insofar as it is to be examined philosophically and according to
a priori principles, can be cognized completely in this way. I have not
even been able to refrain from making use of this guide with respect to

FROM SLAVES TO POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS
Eunuchs, or 'non-men' as they could be known, first appeared in the
royal courts of ancient pre-imperial Chinese states where they were
employed as servants in the inner chambers of the palace. They were more
or less slaves and were usually acquired as children from border
territories, especially those to the south. Castrated and brought to
serve the royal household, they had no real means of altering their
lives. Eunuchs were *REGARDED* *AS* *THE* *MOST* *TRUSTWORTHY* *OF*
*SERVANTS* *BECAUSE* *THEY* *COULD* *NEITHER* *SEDUCE* *WOMEN* *OF*
*THE* *HOUSEHOLD* *OR* *FATHER* *CHILDREN* *WHICH* *MIGHT* *FORM* *A*
*DYNASTY* to rival that of the sitting emperor’s.

Eunuchs were powerful political players in ancient Chinese government.
Originating as trusted slaves in the royal household they were ambitious
to use their favoured position to gain political power. Advising the
emperor from within the palace and blocking the access of officials to
their ruler, the eunuchs were eventually able to acquire noble titles
themselves, form a bureaucracy to rival the state’s and even select and
remove emperors of their choosing. Their influence on government would
result in the falling of dynasties and last right up to the 17th century CE.

Very often the eunuchs encouraged and made worse political factions,
which damaged the unity of the government. Eunuchs are charged with
playing a major part in the fall of the Han Dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE).
During the 2nd century CE, in particular, a succession of weak emperors
were easily manipulated by the eunuchs at court. In 124 CE they even put
their own child candidate on the imperial throne. They gained more
imperial favour and further entrenched their position in 159 CE by
helping Emperor Huan settle a family succession dispute. In gratitude,
the emperor awarded a noble title to five leading eunuchs.

The eunuchs’ even greater power ultimately resulted in government
officials and students banding together and staging protests in 166 and
168-169 CE. The eunuchs would not be put off so lightly though and they
instigated a wave of purges which saw many of those involved in the
protests imprisoned and 100 executed. The luckier officials, students,
and intellectuals who had spoken out against eunuch power were merely
excluded from ever holding public office. In 189 CE events took an even
more brutal turn. The eunuchs murdered the 'Grand General' He Jin after
it was discovered he had plotted to assemble an army to himself purge
the eunuchs. The general’s followers exacted immediate revenge by
killing all the eunuchs in the palace. With this power vacuum there then
ensued a civil war for control of the empire, with the result that the
Han fell and the Wei dynasty was established in 220 CE.

Thus given such a history of national identity as the capacity for
antagonisms against the SOVEREIGN / AUTONOMY why then there should
naturally emerge from such conflicted national identity the unique
societal programs as "ONE CHILD POLICY" or "RE-EDUCATION OF UIGHUR
MUSLIMS" as not being *POGROMS* in and of themselves, but attempts to
preserve the balance of SOVEREIGN / AUTONOMY against any binomial
mindset onslaught.

Thus it could be argued that since the remark: "DO YOU WANT MORE / LESS"

their ruler, the eunuchs were eventually able to acquire noble titles
themselves, form a bureaucracy to rival the state’s and even select and
remove emperors of their choosing. Their influence on government would
result in the falling of dynasties and last right up to the 17th century
CE.
Very often the eunuchs encouraged and made worse political factions,
which damaged the unity of the government. Eunuchs are charged with
playing a major part in the fall of the Han Dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE).
During the 2nd century CE, in particular, a succession of weak emperors
were easily manipulated by the eunuchs at court. In 124 CE they even put
their own child candidate on the imperial throne. They gained more
imperial favour and further entrenched their position in 159 CE by
helping Emperor Huan settle a family succession dispute. In gratitude,
the emperor awarded a noble title to five leading eunuchs.
The eunuchs’ even greater power ultimately resulted in government
officials and students banding together and staging protests in 166 and
168-169 CE. The eunuchs would not be put off so lightly though and they
instigated a wave of purges which saw many of those involved in the
protests imprisoned and 100 executed. The luckier officials, students,
and intellectuals who had spoken out against eunuch power were merely
excluded from ever holding public office. In 189 CE events took an even
more brutal turn. The eunuchs murdered the 'Grand General' He Jin after
it was discovered he had plotted to assemble an army to himself purge
the eunuchs. The general’s followers exacted immediate revenge by
killing all the eunuchs in the palace. With this power vacuum there then
ensued a civil war for control of the empire, with the result that the
Han fell and the Wei dynasty was established in 220 CE.

framework for deep-level decision-making at the bottom line—which is why
you can’t compromise about it. Your value system is the threshold at
which you won’t negotiate.

Each level of cultural and human development
represents a value system, or to use a term coined by Richard Dawkins, a
meme. Just as genes carry the informational codes for our biological
DNA, these value systems supply the codes (or memes, rhymes with
“themes”) that determine our “cultural DNA.” Memes are ideas, beliefs,
values, common ways of looking at the world that, like contagious
viruses, spread from brain to brain through word of mouth, through
media, through interaction between people. The third angel’s message is
a meme. Net ’98 was a global memetic event infecting the world with the
divine virus of the gospel.

There are more than 6 billion people in the
world today, and though we all come from some 100,000 genes—all of us—we
share only a few basic value systems or memes. Researchers studying this
topic have identified only eight thus far.

But we propose nine given that the #81 - PRINCIPLE OF JUXTAPOSITION AS

When something isn’t right at the surface level—where we interact with
others or with God—or when our priorities are distorted or our lives are

forces that shape our thinking they tell us from a human perspective

The levels are open-ended; there isn’t a final stage of development in
this chart or any other useful one, for the ideal that God sets before

The essential thing, however, in this system of categories, by which it
is distinguished from that ancient rhapsody (which proceeded without any
principle), and in virtue of which it alone deserves to be counted as
philosophy, consists in this: that through it the *TRUE* *SIGNIFICATION*
*OF* *THE* *PURE* *CONCEPTS* *OF* *THE* *UNDERSTANDING* and the
condition of their use could be exactly determined. For here it became
apparent that the pure concepts of the understanding are, of themselves,
nothing but logical functions, but that as such they do not constitute
the least concept of an object in itself but rather need sensory
intuition as a basis, and even then they serve only to determine
empirical judgments – which are otherwise undetermined and indifferent
with respect to all the functions of judging – with respect to those
functions, so as to procure universal validity for these judgments, and
thereby to make judgments of experience possible in general.

This sort of insight into the nature of the categories, which would at
the same time restrict their use merely to experience, never occurred to

In having an historical precedent as the characteristic of EUNUCHS both
in the embodiment of criminal punishment and loss of autonomy such as in

FROM SLAVES TO POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS
Eunuchs, or 'non-men' as they could be known, first appeared in the
royal courts of ancient pre-imperial Chinese states where they were
employed as servants in the inner chambers of the palace. They were more
or less slaves and were usually acquired as children from border
territories, especially those to the south. Castrated and brought to
serve the royal household, they had no real means of altering their
lives. Eunuchs were *REGARDED* *AS* *THE* *MOST* *TRUSTWORTHY* *OF*
*SERVANTS* *BECAUSE* *THEY* *COULD* *NEITHER* *SEDUCE* *WOMEN* *OF*
*THE* *HOUSEHOLD* *OR* *FATHER* *CHILDREN* *WHICH* *MIGHT* *FORM* *A*
*DYNASTY* to rival that of the sitting emperor’s.

Eunuchs were powerful political players in ancient Chinese government.
Originating as trusted slaves in the royal household they were ambitious
to use their favoured position to gain political power. Advising the
emperor from within the palace and blocking the access of officials to
their ruler, the eunuchs were eventually able to acquire noble titles
themselves, form a bureaucracy to rival the state’s and even select and
remove emperors of their choosing. Their influence on government would
result in the falling of dynasties and last right up to the 17th century CE.

Very often the eunuchs encouraged and made worse political factions,
which damaged the unity of the government. Eunuchs are charged with
playing a major part in the fall of the Han Dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE).
During the 2nd century CE, in particular, a succession of weak emperors
were easily manipulated by the eunuchs at court. In 124 CE they even put
their own child candidate on the imperial throne. They gained more
imperial favour and further entrenched their position in 159 CE by
helping Emperor Huan settle a family succession dispute. In gratitude,
the emperor awarded a noble title to five leading eunuchs.

The eunuchs’ even greater power ultimately resulted in government
officials and students banding together and staging protests in 166 and
168-169 CE. The eunuchs would not be put off so lightly though and they
instigated a wave of purges which saw many of those involved in the
protests imprisoned and 100 executed. The luckier officials, students,
and intellectuals who had spoken out against eunuch power were merely
excluded from ever holding public office. In 189 CE events took an even
more brutal turn. The eunuchs murdered the 'Grand General' He Jin after
it was discovered he had plotted to assemble an army to himself purge
the eunuchs. The general’s followers exacted immediate revenge by
killing all the eunuchs in the palace. With this power vacuum there then
ensued a civil war for control of the empire, with the result that the
Han fell and the Wei dynasty was established in 220 CE.

Thus given such a history of national identity as the capacity for
antagonisms against the SOVEREIGN / AUTONOMY why then there should
naturally emerge from such conflicted national identity the unique
societal programs as "ONE CHILD POLICY" or "RE-EDUCATION OF UIGHUR
MUSLIMS" as not being *POGROMS* in and of themselves, but attempts to
preserve the balance of SOVEREIGN / AUTONOMY against any binomial
mindset onslaught.

Thus it could be argued that since the remark: "DO YOU WANT MORE / LESS"
is capable of being conveyed by a non-offensive gesticulation (the LEFT
HAND or the RIGHT HAND) of the person making the REMARK even though
referencing a specific cultural group, it does there by, give credence
to an implied immoral or unlawful impost made against the SOVEREIGN /

Eunuchs, or 'non-men' as they could be known, first appeared in the
royal courts of ancient pre-imperial Chinese states where they were
employed as servants in the inner chambers of the palace. They were more
or less slaves and were usually acquired as children from border
territories, especially those to the south. Castrated and brought to
serve the royal household, they had no real means of altering their
lives. Eunuchs were *REGARDED* *AS* *THE* *MOST* *TRUSTWORTHY* *OF*
*SERVANTS* *BECAUSE* *THEY* *COULD* *NEITHER* *SEDUCE* *WOMEN* *OF*
*THE* *HOUSEHOLD* *OR* *FATHER* *CHILDREN* *WHICH* *MIGHT* *FORM* *A*
*DYNASTY* to rival that of the sitting emperor’s.
Eunuchs were powerful political players in ancient Chinese government.
Originating as trusted slaves in the royal household they were ambitious
to use their favoured position to gain political power. Advising the
emperor from within the palace and blocking the access of officials to
their ruler, the eunuchs were eventually able to acquire noble titles
themselves, form a bureaucracy to rival the state’s and even select and
remove emperors of their choosing. Their influence on government would
result in the falling of dynasties and last right up to the 17th century
CE.
Very often the eunuchs encouraged and made worse political factions,
which damaged the unity of the government. Eunuchs are charged with
playing a major part in the fall of the Han Dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE).
During the 2nd century CE, in particular, a succession of weak emperors
were easily manipulated by the eunuchs at court. In 124 CE they even put
their own child candidate on the imperial throne. They gained more
imperial favour and further entrenched their position in 159 CE by
helping Emperor Huan settle a family succession dispute. In gratitude,
the emperor awarded a noble title to five leading eunuchs.
The eunuchs’ even greater power ultimately resulted in government
officials and students banding together and staging protests in 166 and
168-169 CE. The eunuchs would not be put off so lightly though and they
instigated a wave of purges which saw many of those involved in the
protests imprisoned and 100 executed. The luckier officials, students,
and intellectuals who had spoken out against eunuch power were merely
excluded from ever holding public office. In 189 CE events took an even
more brutal turn. The eunuchs murdered the 'Grand General' He Jin after
it was discovered he had plotted to assemble an army to himself purge
the eunuchs. The general’s followers exacted immediate revenge by
killing all the eunuchs in the palace. With this power vacuum there then
ensued a civil war for control of the empire, with the result that the
Han fell and the Wei dynasty was established in 220 CE.

from such conflicted national identity such societal programs as "ONE
